What will change with regard to children in our relationship?
It will become possible to acquire parental responsibility in relation
to children if you become their step-parent.
The Children Act is further amended so that in certain circumstances
a civil partner is allowed to apply for a residence or contact order.
The Adoption Act is also amended by the new legislation in complex
but beneficial ways.
