Residential Care
As the population ages, it is very likely that more people will need residential care in the future and this is often is a source of real concern for people.
There are many issues to consider around going into residential care, such as whether you may be eligible for care home accommodation under s21 National Assistance Act 1948 and, if so, how your accommodation would be funded (see also ‘Paying for Care’). Many people do not realise that there is a right to choose, in certain circumstances, the setting of your residential accommodation under the Choice of Accommodation Directions 1992. We also have experience in dealing with other situations where, for example, a care home may be about to close or where there are concerns about the care the person is receiving in the care home.
