
Time Limits imposed on the Local Education Authority.
Where the Local Education Authority has served a notice informing
a parent that they intend to assess a child or when they have received
a request for an assessment from the parent, the Local Education
Authority must make a decision whether or not make an assessment
within six weeks.
When the decision has been made by the Local Education Authority
to make an assessment, it must complete the assessment within 10
weeks.
Once the assessment has been made, the LEA must either serve a
copy of the draft Statement or give notice of its decision not to
make a Statement within two weeks.
