National offer day and Admissions Appeals

The 1st March 2017 is the National Offer Day for secondary school places in England and Wales. In a period where there is a shortage of secondary school places, fewer children than ever before are likely to get their first choice of school places. If unsuccessful, the only way to attempt to secure your child a place at the secondary school of your choice is to submit an appeal against the Admission Authority's decision. Often, very tight timescales apply to submit an appeal and therefore it is crucial that the appeal is submitted as soon as possible. Furthermore, the Telegraph reported yesterday, that it is estimated only 1 in 3 parents who appeal are successful. This in itself demonstrates the importance of having a well drafted appeal, argued on the proper grounds of appeal and with sufficient evidence in support. Sinclairslaw is home to a number of expert education lawyers who can advise you on evidence and assist you in the preparation of an admissions appeal.
