Information Law

Legislation such as the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004, governs the extent to which the public can gain access to information held by central Government and other public authorities.

We have experience in assisting people with Subject Access Requests, appeals to the Independent Monitoring Board and Freedom of Information requests. We also have advised record keepers (data controllers) on the detail of how to comply with the requirements of the Information Commissioner’s office and we have assisted clients obtain access to personal records and files held by public bodies.

What public bodies do with the information and when they must provide it to you is regulated. Sinclairslaw can assist by ensuring important information is securely handled and disclosed when requested.
